Translate PDFs and Images To Editable Google Docs

Here at the Help Desk, we always get calls from people who have PDF files and want to edit them. While there are some free online utilities available, our experience with them hasn’t been entirely positive.

Now Google Docs allows you to convert your PDF files and images with text to editable documents. When uploading a PDF or image to Google Docs, choose the following option:

Google Docs will extract the text. Results may vary depending on the quality of the PDF or image; the better the image quality, the better the results.

Keep in mind Google Docs will only extract up to 25 megabytes worth of text from a PDF or image, so if you happen to have a PDF that’s especially long, you may only see the first 10 pages or so converted to text.
