Automatically Move Items to a GroupWise Folder

You can easily instruct GroupWise to redirect specific e-mail items to a personal folder within your GroupWise Cabinet, using the Windows version of GroupWise. Here’s how:

  • If you don’t already have a folder created in your Cabinet that’s intended to store redirected e-mail, create a new folder and give it a specific name (for help on creating Cabinet folders, see our GroupWise Quick Reference Guide online).
  • Go to Tools > Rules > New
  • In the resulting dialog box, give the Rule a name
  • Define Conditions: Using the drop-down arrow, choose “From” and then “From contains”, then type the sender’s name (or e-mail address) and click OK
  • Choose Action: “ADD ACTION” and then choose “Move to Folder”
  • Click the “+” by your Cabinet to see the Personal Mail folder, then check the box next to the folder you want the mail to move to
  • Click Move (at the right)
  • Click Save to finish

Rules are a huge help to organize the large number of emails I receive. I recommend filtering all messages from a listserv to a folder to help organize your email.
